Hi! I’m Paula, a UI/UX Designer based in Geneva, Switzerland.

I traded spreadsheets for storyboards to design smarter, kinder digital experiences.

SWITVOWS is a one-stop mobile app that helps international couples efficiently and seamlessly plan their dream weddings in Switzerland by overcoming language barriers, fragmented resources, and lack of transparency.

A complete redesign of the Help Center for Agora Tutoring—a Canada-based platform that connects students and tutors for in-person learning—focused on improving clarity, trust, and usability within strict layout and content constraints.

KONNECT is a freemium K-pop media app that unifies music, video, fan community, and exclusive content into one personalized, immersive platform for global K-pop fans.

GramCity is a conceptual feature for a photo-editing app designed during a self-led, five-day design sprint. The challenge was to help users find great photo locations when traveling. My solution allows users to input travel plans, discover curated and nearby photo spots, build a personalized itinerary, and contribute reviews and photos post-visit.

UI/UX Designer

Hi, I’m Paula Cai — a UI/UX DESIGNER with a foundation in FINANCE and REAL ESTATE, now focused on designing intuitive, research-driven digital experiences that balance business goals with user needs.

My journey into design started after years of working in fast-paced, high-stakes environments like Blackstone and Natixis, where I managed multi-billion-dollar real estate portfolios, led investment strategies, and communicated with global stakeholders. While I loved the analytical challenge, I found myself increasingly drawn to the problem-solving and creative side of building better systems — not just for investors, but for users.

That curiosity led me to pivot into UI/UX design, where I’ve since brought my analytical rigor and cross-functional experience into the creative space. I’ve designed platforms ranging from mobile apps for wedding planning and K-pop fan engagement to information architecture for educational help centers. I’m particularly passionate about projects that solve real problems, streamline complex workflows, and empower users with clarity and confidence.

As a designer, I combine empathy with structure. I use qualitative and quantitative research to understand user behavior, and design systems and interfaces that feel purposeful, elegant, and easy to navigate. I enjoy working end-to-end—from conducting interviews and synthesizing insights to wireframing, prototyping, and iterating with feedback.

I hold a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University’s Hotel School and I am a CFA Charterholder. I speak English, Mandarin, and conversational French. Outside of design, you’ll often find me snowboarding, exploring new cities, or perfecting the art of planning the perfect travel itinerary.

Let’s connect — I’m always open to collaboration, creative challenges, and meaningful conversations about design, product, or even just a great cup of coffee.
